Disability Matters

This course looks at the issues surrounding the provision of primary health care to disabled children and young people. The role of parent carers and the child as experts in their own health is highlighted, including a word of caution about diagnostic overshadowing. Service access is considered, as well as potential challenges in the consultation itself. Following completion of this course you should be able to identify aspects of your own practice which could be addressed to better serve this group. This course is designed to be used in conjunction with the Disability Matters e-Portal, and links are provided throughout the lesson.
