Autoimmunity Hub
This hub provides a breadth of content in a variety of learning styles. eLearning modules provide an overview of autoimmune disease, as well as opportunities to find out more about coeliac disease and irritable bowel syndrome, exploring where autoimmunity fits in. For a quick snippet of learning, case studies are used to show how an initial presentation of fatigue and general aches and pains can be associated with a variety of autoimmune diagnoses. Four conditions – coeliac disease, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are covered in just 20 minutes. A screencast looks at the presentation and diagnosis of coeliac disease in children, particularly considering differences in the way it may present and be diagnosed in comparison with adults. There is an eLearning app which provides education for doctors about various aspects of autoimmunity. This app can be accessed in small sections of time, offering 90 minutes of CPD altogether. It includes access to eLearning, case studies and podcasts. There are 10 podcasts in all, covering autoimmunity in the context of a variety of body systems and ages, with subject experts giving top tips on their areas to help us in primary care.
