Learning Disability

The course will deliver an overview on how to identify people with a learning disability, and the impact learning disabilities can have on health outcomes. This will include their influence on mental health and common co-occurring physical conditions. Avoidable causes of death, health promotion and prevention, screening and the annual health check will be covered. We will outline organisational strategies to improve care, including mental capacity assessments and reasonable adjustments.
