Myeloma is the second most common haematological cancer and accounts for 2% of all malignancies, yet it continues to have a worse prognosis than other haematological cancers. This module will discuss the presentation of myeloma, including those who present without pain, how to investigate in primary care and when to refer. The primary care aspects of treatment will also be discussed, as will the management of monoclonal gammopathy of uncertain significance, an increasingly commonly recognised precursor condition to myeloma.
