ENT is a key speciality for General Practice and Primary Care. It suffers from frugality of teaching and training, both in undergraduate medicine and during core GP training, hence the need to gain insight, knowledge and updates in this field.
This ODE is specifically created and tailored to meet the needs of a busy GP, GP trainee, practice nurse and advanced nurse practitioner. The topics are carefully selected and pitched at the right level in order to translate directly and easily to your day-to-day practice.
Two of the three speakers are senior GPwER’s in the field and they are supported by an ENT consultant speaker.
- The Ear Drum - How to look at this and what to look for. Glue ear, otitis media, otitis externa, tinnitus, Eustachian tube dysfunction and sudden deafness. The dizziness topic will look at how to approach, diagnose and manage the dizzy patient and how this extends beyond the realm of ENT.
- The Nose - Basic understanding of the anatomy, nasal obstruction, sinusitis, rhinitis, epistaxis, nasal fracture and anosmia.
- The Throat – Sore throat, tonsillitis, Globus symptom, hoarseness, neck lumps, oral lesions and red flags in head and neck. Latest NICE, national and international guidelines will be explained.
