Acute kidney injury toolkit
Acute kidney injury (AKI) refers to a sudden drop in kidney function occurring over hours or days. Approximately two thirds of cases begin in the community, and it is associated with a significantly higher risk of mortality. These two NUBs - new and useful bits - summarise the key things you need to know about AKI. They cover the recognition of people who are at higher risk and confidently making the diagnosis when you get an abnormal result, There also is guidance on how to interpret the result, what you need to do next, and follow-up planning both in the immediate and longer term. Each NUB contains links to further information and resources, making it easy to access everything you need.
