Cardiorenal metabolic disease describes a series of interwoven conditions including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, chronic kidney disease and heart failure. These disorders are linked with central obesity, systemic inflammation and insulin resistance.

The first module will consider the pathophysiology and effects of cardiorenal metabolic disease and its relationship with frailty. The subsequent interactive case study modules will apply this theory to individual clinical situations in primary care.

An educational grant was received by Boehringer Ingelheim Ltd for the production of the course. Editorial and content decisions were made solely by the RCGP.
