Climate Health Equity

The impacts of climate change are not fairly distributed amongst our community. They are amplified by other determinants of health, such as poor housing, and generally affect the most deprived in society more, despite this cohort usually contributing least to the problem. This course delivers an understanding of what climate health equity is and how those most vulnerable are impacted. It describes practical steps that GPs and primary healthcare teams can take to counteract the damaging effects of climate on their patients’ health, in the context of the wider determinants of health. This course falls within the Evidence based practice, research and sharing knowledge curriculum field.
