Sepsis NUB
Sepsis occurs when the body’s response to infection causes life-threatening organ dysfunction. There were 3,770 UK deaths from sepsis in 2022 – it is most common at the extremes of age. This NUB discusses risk factors and the clinical assessment of someone who might have sepsis and also includes some ideas for sepsis related quality improvement activities which could be done within the surgery.
