Allergy Hub
Atopic/allergic conditions are commonly seen in primary care – the allergy hub provides education on eczema, asthma, allergic rhinitis and food allergy, including allergy to peanuts.
eLearning courses use a case-based approach to give an overview of the different allergic conditions and discuss practical aspects of care, such as how to investigate appropriately and rationally, how to treat in primary care and when to refer.
A series of podcasts covers different aspects of allergy, including pollen food syndrome (also known as oral allergy syndrome), IgE mediated versus non-IgE mediated allergy, and the one airway theory that links asthma and allergic rhinitis. The importance of good asthma control is emphasised in the podcast covering the National Review of Asthma Deaths (NRAD). For those who are short of time, a series of five-minute screencasts give quick updates on specific aspects of allergy.
