Becoming a Gambling Harms accredited practice is simple
Your GP practice will become eligible for accreditation once a member of your clinical team has completed the Gambling Harms eLearning course or has attended one of our educational webinars. This team member will act as the Gambling Harms practice lead and will receive a staff training research pack which can be shared with your practice team.
What does Gambling Harms practice accreditation offer?
- Shows enhanced commitment to improving health outcomes for patients experiencing gambling harms
- Sharing key learning points from learning with the wider practice team
- Reducing stigma by broaching gambling in consultations, where relevant
- Signposting patients to support, where needed
- Displaying resources in the waiting room and public areas
When you gain Gambling Harms practice accreditation
When you become accredited, your practice will receive a certificate of accreditation and be sent a practice resource pack. This contains slides, posters and guidance that will:
- educate your staff on how to identify patients who may be at risk of gambling harms
- inform your staff on how to reduce the stigma related to gambling disorders
- advise your clinical team on how to encourage conversations about gambling with patients and their families
If your practice has already completed the eLearning course or attended an RCGP Gambling Harms webinar, you can apply for your practice resource pack.
