Men's Health

This recording will be available to view until 17 May 2022.

In our second online RCGP One Day Essentials Men’s Health conference, we will consider the profound impact that racial inequality has on health and cover issues ranging from sexual health to care of trans men. This year we are picking up on topics we weren’t able to cover in our first online meeting, adding those you mentioned in your feedback as areas you’d love to keep or learn more about. As always, there will be lots of useful information tailored to GPs with practical advice, and particularly (internet) resources and apps that you can use with your patients to maximise their care.

Topics include:
  • Impact of race or inequality on men's health
  • Men's Cancer Care
  • Men's Sexual Health
  • Trans Health
  • Lower urinary tract symptoms
  • Testosterone / Andropause
  • Erectile Dysfunction

Dermatology

This recording will be available to view until 15 May 2022.

This programme has been devised specifically towards primary care and the busy GP.  We will focus on the theme of ‘skin which isn’t quite skin’.  Rashes and skin lesions in our patients are often a source of anxiety for the clinician and patient alike. The appendageal structures and mucosal membranes are often overlooked in teaching and training and can perpetuate the hesitancy many of us can feel in primary care in treating dermatological disease. This course will cover some important areas in nail, genital and oral disease. All information will be relevant to general practice presentations and management.

Topics include:
  • Hair Loss
  • Vulval Lichen Sclerosus
  • Mouth Ulcers
  • Dry Feet
  • Nails
  • Cheilitis
  • Itchy Scalps

Ophthalmology

This recording will be available to view until 28 March 2022.

Sexual and reproductive health consultations are a frequent request in primary care and ones that can sometimes be delivered by remote means.  Again this One Day Essentials in Sexual health will be delivered as an online conference, with presentations to include plenty of time to ask questions to the expert speakers. The content of the day will deliver important education for general practice, and include a number of related topics recognising the holistic life-course approach to patient care that we offer in our daily work.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding on how and when consultations can be provided without face to face contact
  • To gain confidence in how GPs can engage with sexual health as part of the holistic care offered
  • Updated on new developments and managing cases that would typically present to us in the primary care setting
  • Update on identifying safe-guarding concerns including domestic violence and Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

Topics include:

  •  A life course approach to HIV
  • Abortion care
  • Female Genital Mutilation (FMG)
