Becoming a Gambling Harms accredited practice is simple
Your GP practice will become automatically eligible for accreditation, once a member of your clinical team has completed the complete the Gambling Harms eLearning course. Please note this must be a member of the clinical team who can make patient referrals. This team member will act as the Gambling Harms practice lead.
What does Gambling Harms practice accreditation offer?
- Shows enhanced commitment to improving health outcomes for patients experiencing gambling harms
- Sharing key learning points from eLearning with the wider practice team
- Reducing stigma by broaching gambling in consultations, where relevant
- Signposting patients to support, where needed.
- Displaying resources in the waiting room and public areas.
When you become Gambling Harms accredited, your practice will receive a certificate of accreditation and gain access to resources and guidance that will:
- Educate your staff on how to identify patients who may be at risk of gambling harms.
- Inform your staff on how to reduce the stigma related to gambling disorders.
- Advise your staff on how to encourage conversations about gambling with patients and their families.
