Lyme Disease Toolkit
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection caused by the spirochaete Borrelia burgdoferi, transmitted by tick bites. Ticks occur worldwide, in both urban and rural areas, and bites can be painless and easily missed. Although the rash erythema migrans is diagnostic of Lyme disease in itself, it is not always present. Untreated, Lyme disease can go on to cause serious illness and even death in some cases.
These three NUBs - New & Useful Bits, provide information at your fingertips, summarising the key aspects of diagnosing Lyme disease, managing Lyme disease, and ongoing management and prevention. Each contains links to further information and resources, making it easy to access everything you need.
